Hello, everyone. This week we go into authenticity proper (finally!).
In today’s world where it is possible to see what other people are doing in real time, it is very tempting to copy other people and try to be like them. Comparison, fear, pretension and self-judgment is so easy and often very natural, if we’re being honest.
But being authentic means being true to our own values and reflecting this to ourselves and to the people around us in our choices and actions. Of course, it comes with great, life-changing benefits. Go listen!
This week’s assignment: I want you to put yourself under a magnifying glass. Take just one area of life that you’re currently uncomfortable about and probe the reason for your discomfort. Is it because you are doing things you would rather not do for reasons that you don’t understand or that you wouldn’t allow yourself to address?
Whatever it is, write it down in your journal and with the help of the Holy Spirit, take a deep look into why you feel the way you do about it. That’s all I want you to do. Just write it down. You don’t even have to act on it yet. Just uncover it and acknowledge it.
We briefly mentioned the book, Create Your Ideal Career: Your Roadmap to Purposeful, Passionate and Personally-Suitable Work. Get it here.
