Have you wanted to do something for a long time, but just can’t seem to find the time, the energy or the zeal to get it done? Well, you can just join the rest of us, friend. We have all been there, and perhaps in many ways, we still are.
That’s why I wanted to share this with you today: You can keep your dreams alive and moving, even if you’re pressed for time and energy, even if you’re constantly overwhelmed. As long as you’re living, it is still possible for your dreams to become a reality. As long as they are valid, ethical and Spirit-inspired dreams, they don’t have to die. Especially, if they are Spirit-inspired dreams.
Perhaps, you have a desire to write a novel, write an autobiography, start a course, get your graduate degree, launch a business, record a song, start a garden, adopt a child…whatever it is, no matter how huge it is or how small it may seem, you can get it done. I hope these few tips will help you keep your dreams alive and moving in the direction of manifested reality.
- Take the pressure off. When you consider all it would take to make your dream a reality, it may seem overwhelming and the pressure you feel may be counterproductive. So, reduce the pressure to the barest minimum. You can try expanding the time you have set for yourself to bring it to pass. For instance, in a particular season, I was so drained and under pressure, so I gave myself only two hours within which to work on my goals every day. I guarded just those two hours and made progress. Slow progress is still progress.
- Join a small group of people who want to do the same thing. There’s something to be said for good peer pressure. You may find a challenge on social media or just bring in a group of friends who are working towards the same thing. This can fire you up, help you stay motivated and keep you accountable.
- Divide and conquer. Take a good look at what you want to achieve and break it into smaller parts and tasks. Then take on the first small task and focus on it until you have finished. This can help you reduce overwhelm. As a plus, progress, no matter how small, will improve your motivation.
I hope these tips help you. And if you’re still so overwhelmed and just can’t see a way forward, you need to take another look at your dreams and see if they are a right fit for your current life season or if they may need to wait.
