Last night, I had a tangerine after dinner. When I was clearing up, I took one small tangerine seed in my hand and studied it for a long time.
It was so small. So very small.
Have you ever taken the time to look at a seed? It could be any seed at all: an orange seed, a watermelon seed or a pawpaw seed.
As I studied that tangerine seed, I reflected on its potential. As small as that tangerine seed was, I knew that if I planted it in good soil, with time it would turn into a tangerine tree. One fully-grown tangerine tree has the potential or yielding hundreds of tangerine fruits. If I took the seeds from one hundred tangerine fruits and planted them, I could have a really huge tangerine farm. And it all started with one small tangerine seed.
Inside every seed is the potential for something very great. No matter how small a seed is, when it is planted and nurtured in the right conditions, it could turn into a big farm over time.
You already have a seed of greatness inside of you. Every human being was created in the image of God. This means that there is a God-quality inside of you. You see, our God is very big, infinitely big. And He has released a part of Him inside every person as a seed with awesome potential.
Regardless of your personal story or background, you were created with the seed of greatness. Inside of you lies a gift and talent that has the potential to turn into something great if you plant it. It may look small now, but remember that seeds are always small. Even though a seed is small, it can still become something big. That small talent that you have has the potential to become something very big.
Once you discover your seed, don’t despise it or compare it to another person’s seed. An orange seed is smaller than a mango seed, but they both have the potential to birth a huge farm and a successful harvest. Discover, appreciate and nurture your own seed of greatness.
